Your Responsibilities

The Legal Unit of Linköping Municipality is now seeking a Data Protection Strategist!

As a Data Protection Strategist, you will provide legal support and advice regarding the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and associated legislation to the municipality's committees and administrations.

In your role, you will have a varied and diverse job where you will work with all of the municipality's administrations. You will work closely with the operations and data protection coordinators to help them prioritize and balance issues within the data protection area. You will also assist them in implementing the requirements set forth in the GDPR and related legislation. To disseminate information and knowledge, you will conduct training sessions, and it may also be relevant to develop cross-municipal documents within the data protection area.

In addition to the municipality's administrations, you will also collaborate with the municipality's Data Protection Officer and municipal lawyers.

Your Workplace

As a Data Protection Strategist, you will be placed in the municipality's Legal Unit. The unit is responsible for cross-municipal legal issues and ensures that professional expert support is available in legal matters, also supporting some of the municipal companies in data protection issues. The Legal Unit is led by the Chief Legal Officer and consists of six municipal lawyers and two Data Protection Officers.

The workplace is centrally located at Ågatan 40. You will work Monday to Friday, and the role applies flexible working hours.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone with a law degree, a master's degree in business law, or an equivalent degree deemed comparable by the employer. You have prior experience in legal work and knowledge of the GDPR, data protection issues, and related legislation. Experience with public access and confidentiality legislation, administrative law, municipal law, and legal work within the public sector is considered an asset. Experience in enabling the use of AI solutions through the application of the GDPR and good knowledge of the AI regulation is also seen as advantageous.

The position requires excellent oral and written communication skills in Swedish, as the work demands high proficiency in interpreting and writing advanced texts, as well as the ability to clearly and pedagogically convey complex legislation to non-lawyers.

The role requires the ability to take initiative and independently drive issues within your areas of expertise. You should be able to structure your work and communicate solutions clearly and pedagogically, both orally and in writing. Furthermore, you work well with others and can relate to them in a responsive and smooth manner. You work towards goals and have a clear results-oriented mindset, and can change your direction when goals shift.
